Hello!  We're Julie and Aaron Short.  We met during our time performing with the PRIDE of Missouri State Marching Band.  We started dating after working together at the Bands ALIVE clinic before our senior year.

Since then, we've gotten married, moved to the St. Louis area, got a couple of dogs, had a baby, but still continue to work together teaching marching band!

Outside of band, we enjoy hiking, traveling, and cooking together.

Meet Aaron!

Aaron began his marching band career in the drumline at Camdenton High School, and he returned as a staff member for over 10 years.  Additionally, he has been a clinician and tech for marching percussion for multiple programs around the area.

Aaron began working more in-depth with the visual side of the marching arts in 2019, writing drill for both marching band as well as indoor units.  His analytical approach to drill brings effect and an appropriate level of challenge to the program.

During our recent virtual season, he also found an interest in sound and video editing.

Julie began her love of marching band at St. Charles West High School, where she played flute and performed with the winter guard.

She went to Missouri State University to earn a degree in art education, while performing with the Pride of Missouri State color guard, winter guard, and Pridettes dance line, becoming a section leader in 2010, and captain in 2011.  She also performed with Avidity Independent World in 2015.

Julie has designed and choreographed for programs around the state and served the color guard director at Fort Zumwalt West High School for 10 years.  In her full-time job, she is an art teacher at FZW.  She recently completed an MA in Art History and Visual Culture at Lindenwood University.
